Great diapers, but always have to change the shell Review by Naomi

These are great diapers. I love the snap closure and how quick and easy it is to switch out the soakers. My only problem with the gro via AO2 system is that I am constantly having to change the shell also. The soaker always seems to bunch up in the middle, so when she dirtys the diaper it leaks off the sides of the soaker and onto the shell.If I'm changing both shell and soaker almost every time, that's the point? I love how soft and vibrant the shells are. I have also noticed that they tend to dry fast the more washes they have had. I have not had a single leak or gush from an explosion. My son gets excited about his cloth diapers and like to walk around in them. Fun prints, great colors, and great quality. We started with the Hook and Loop for sizing and ease, but have recently been using the Snap due to our 9 month old being able to undue the Velcro. He is 20lbs and still fits in the second size of snaps, but I think we will move to the largest size non the next few weeks. We have never had a leak and love that we don't have to change the shell every time there is a wet diaper. It took me 6 months to finally use cloth diapers and I am so glad I found Grovia. I love the patterns on these diapers!! Sooooo cute!! And the snap sizes seem to fit really well for our little boy so far. I love how the soakers have the waterproof bottom layer. Still working on night time but I think it's almost perfected :) my hubby likes them too so that's a plus!! I really do think these will fit him all the way through potty training, and so far are washing well. They line dry nicely even when it is inside our cold laundry room :) never had a poo blowout and only leaks were operator error :) great customer service!!!!! Also love organic!!!! They are supposed to be 1.5-2 inches from the top. I sent them back in and they sent me new ones with the snaps lower. Now I am completely satisfied. I am lucky that I have a store near me that sells GroVia because I will only buy more shells if I can look at the snaps to make sure they are low enough. But overall, I love this system. When I decided to cloth diaper my son, I tried just about every major brand on the market and found the GroVia to be my absolute favorite, hands down. Here's a rundown of why I love these diapers!

*I love that I don't have to reach into a dirty pocket to pull out an insert, or spend a lot of time pre-stuffing pocket diapers.
* I like that the inserts snap into place so there's no bunching or shifting
* I like the soft outer layer and the bright, fun colors of the diaper.
* The shape and stretchiness of the snap wings makes it so much easier for me to fit this on my baby. Also, the crossover snap is perfect for small babies.
* I like the option of using a disposable insert while we're traveling.

All in all, these diapers are wonderful!!

My husband and I love, love, love these diapers. They are so incredibly versatile. We bought both the snaps (my husband and my preference) and the velcro (our older son's preference). Everyone that has seen them always asks for a demo and ends up switching to cloth and especially Grovia. I even convinced an owner of a local birth center / maternity and natural baby supplies store to stock them after one demo. I am an avid fan of Grovia. I couldn't survive without my snap closure Grovia shells. They are beyond adorable & I love that my growing son can't undo them. Snaps are my saving grace when I want him running around in nothing but the cuteness of his diaper. I love the versatility of Grovia shells as well. The inserts are quick snap in and out, you can lay a prefold in the in a jiffy, the disposable biosoaker pads are spiffy for trips, and if you designate one of your covers to be a swim diaper you are set for the season. I bought lots of different kinds of diapers to try when deciding what system worked best for us. My favorite, hands down, is the GroVia hybrid shell. The colors and prints are adorable, but what I really like is the flexibility to use a GroVia soaker in the (they snap so they don't move), a prefold and several other kind of inserts. Snaps work better for us because I couldn't get as could of a fit on chunky thighs with the velcro. They are easy to care for too. (Posted on 5/31/12)

Half my stash is AIOs, and half prefolds/covers, and I happened to win a giveaway where I won a beautiful purple one of these shells. Gave it a try with a prefold since I didn't have any grovia soakers, and , holy cow! Love it! So trim and cute and great fit and great elastic and I need more! And maybe a few soakers too! I recently bought the Snap Shells to add to my collection and LOVE them! I actually wish we would have gone with the GroVia AI2 system exclusively. Super easy to insert the soaker pads and replace. My favourite Grovia product. We used the shells with terry squares at the start, as we slowly built our Grovia stash and bought the soakers. The shells dry quickly and I like the unique mesh layer inside. I go for dark coloured shells as it is hot here and bub is often in nappy and singlet at meal time. The snap closure is secure and bub cannot undo, it also stands up better than Velcro closure in the wash. (Posted on 5/30/12)

It is an amazing fit on my son and is super trim. The snaps are really easy to snap on and using the Grovia snap-in soakers is easy as well. I love the GroVia shells. They are extremely well-made, very high quality. They have an excellent fit. They contain everything very well. During the not-on-solids stage, we did have some EBF poo leak out of soaker pads onto the shell, but I was just happy the shell contained it! I remember having to do entire wardrobe changes (baby and me) and wash my nursing pillow after poosplosions in disposables. I even heard my husband telling his mom, "These are pretty nifty," and he was someone resistant to my "crazy" idea to cloth diaper! The prints are adorable too! (Posted on 5/30/12)

We use the Grovia hybrid shells along with the stay dry soaker pads for our main cloth diapering system. The shells fit nicely and can be easily adjusted with the snaps as your baby grows. The hybrid shells are SO convenient because you can use your regular soaker pads or the disposable BioSoaker pads, which are very nice for traveling. (Posted on 5/30/12)

I love the Grovia hybrid system! We have the snap shells and the organic boosters, and it is RARE that we have a leak during the day. My little one loves listening to the snaps close so that makes diaper changing a little easier :-) I also love how trim these diapers are compared to some other cloth diapers. We use these with the biosoakers when we're traveling and don't have easy access to a washer and they are fantastic. No blowouts, easy to wash by hand, hang dry quickly, and fit both my skinny baby/toddler and my chunky baby well. I was worried at first about the fit with only one row of snaps but it's never been an issue. When I first started cloth diapering our oldest, I loved the aplix shell. I got a great fit with it and never really had any issues. Then he learned how to undo his diaper around 1 year old :) I sent my diapers in to the snap conversion program and GroVia ended up just replacing all of our shells with brand new snap diapers (they were still under warranty and most of the back and leg elastic had given out). I LOVE the snaps. They are easy to adjust, don't look worn out over time like the aplix does, and best of all, the little guy can't undo them! We love all of the Grovia shells and had been using mostly hook and loop for their perfect fit from birth to 12mo. However, now that our little girl knows how to take off the velco shells, we have gotten a few covers with snaps which are great for nap time in summer time! We also love them as swim "diapers". We love hybrids in our family. We use a mix of Flips and Grovia Ai2 mostly. My husbands favorite diaper is Grovia. He likes that you can snap in the insert so it does not move around when you are putting on the diaper. I prefer the Aplix but my husband prefers the snaps. I find that the hip snaps are hard to button and the tag gets in my way. It does not fit as small as the hook and loop does either. However besides that minor annoyance this is an awesomely cute daytime diaper. I want to buy more of these to add to my stash. It works well with my chubby leg/skinny wasted daughter. These shells are wonderful! I love that the soakers snap in, so if one of the soakers or shells gets ruined, I only have to replace part of the set, not the whole thing. (that hasn't happened, but is what sold me on the AI2 system) I think these work best on a bigger baby, maybe from 6mos up. I didn't like how bulky the shell was on my newborn, but as she has grown, the fit has gotten better. They are still a little more bulky than the AIO's, though. I also love that it has two layers keeping everything inside the diaper. The soaker doesn't always keep everything contained, so I love the back-up that the shell provides! I have been using cloth diapers since the birth of my first son 3 years ago. I borrowed some GroVia's from a friend and fell in love! They are so easy to use and I love the fact that the shells breath and do not trap that warm wet feeling against their skin. They are also trimmer then other types of cloth and really cute!! I prefer the snaps for a closer fit (and when my son was 2 he learned to take off the hook and loop but could not get the snaps undone) but the hook and loop is great for the little ones who wiggle a lot! These snaps are durable and strong. There are lots of sizing options that allow for a snug and comfortable fit for baby. I have been using this cover of about a year and I love it. It fit on him as 10 lb newborn. My baby is now about 23 pounds and we are still snapped down to the medium size. This is great, because it means that this is truly a diaper that will fit on my baby all the way to potty training. As for laundering, I personally prefer snaps as they don't get snagged on other diapers like hook and loop can. These wash up nicely in warm water and line dry quickly. I currently have 2 in diapers. I've found that I prefer this hybrid option for daytime use as it doesn't take up as much space in my diaper pail (affording me longer times between washing) and the covers are quick drying. I personally prefer these snap covers to the H&L, though the H&L DOES have a better fit on my babies when they're younger. I have absolutely no complaints with my snap shells. (Posted on 5/30/12)

When I bought my set of diapers, I bought mostly snap and one hook and loop. While the h&l goes on more like a disposable, since the Velcro is so awesome, it sticks to everything! This can make it tough if you forget to secure them before laundering. I love these snaps, and of you're new to cloth diapers like I am, these are very easy to learn on. We have 5 shells and have had them for a few months now. All are still in great quality. The snaps make it so we can use it from 15 lbs to 35 lbs. Our baby is at 15 lbs right now. He is using the smalles setting since he has a smal waist. Currently using them with prefolds. I would recomend you buying the soakers because with the prefolds its bulky and heavy. This pants wont go on comfortably.

I love these diapers. We mainly have hook and loop, but the snaps are just that little bit extra that makes them perfect. After trying many different kinds/brands of diapers, I quickly learned that GroVia was my favorite, and that the 2IO system was my favorite. I purchased velcro and snap shells, and organic cotton and stay dry soaker pads to try all of them out. I love the snap shells because it is more sturdy on my little man. He won't be able to unsnap the diaper like he will be able to pull off the velcro. I also love that the print continues through out the whole diaper on the snaps, rather then stops where the velcro would start.

The advantage to the snaps closure is that it will last a really long time, it won't wear out like the velcro will. Also, your baby will have a much harder time trying to take off the diaper when they get older. The disadvantage is that it is a little harder to put on your baby, it's not as simple as just clasping the velcro. You also can't get the EXACT fit you may want like you can with the velcro because the snaps are placed already, velcro you can move where ever you want.

All in all, the shell works really well. It holds in leaks and my child never had a blow out poop diaper in these, which is huge!

Pro's: Velcro eventually wears out where snaps stay the same, so the diaper will last longer. Leak proof and easy to use

I've gotten so many compliments on these diaper solid colors and prints! Lol. They are super easy and can contain massive poops. I love that the inserts snaps in because it prevents the insert from moving around and causing leaks/blowouts. I don't have problems with bunching like I have with other Hybrids I've used. Love the color and I use it mainly with the stay dry snap in booster. Fits great. Not as trim as my grovia AIO but still trim. I have also used it with prefolds and it works great. I think I might like it a tad bit better in the hook and loop version just to get a tighter fit. Overall I love it and I would buy more! (Posted on 5/30/12)

My only complaint of the snap closure shells is that is a little more difficult to get a good fit on slim babies. I feel like I'm only just getting a good fit on my 13 month old- the H&L have been much easier to adjust for us. I love the hybrid shells. They fit my chubby legged baby very nicely. My 8 month old, baby girl is 20 lbs and fits on the middle rise. I believe she will stay on that rise for awhile longer. The shells are very easy to snap the soaker pads in and out. They make for a very quick diaper change.
